Social Animation | TJX | Marshalls
While on the Marshalls digital team, our biggest focus was creating paid assets to that were released monthly to the brand’s Facebook and Instagram channels. My role in the development of the animations included concepting, story-boarding, assisting on photoshoot, product selection and the creation of stop-motion animation.
The five phases of surprise
What sets apart Marshalls, and their other sister brands at TJX, is that the products are unexpected and often very diverse… even between stores that are only a few miles apart. A key customer insight of a Marshalls customer is feeling of surprise and delight she feels when in the store, discovering all the unexpected finds within the merchandise. This animation was one of my favorites to work on while at Marshalls. It depicts the five phases (emotions) she would experience when coming across that unexpected find… 1. Love at First Sight, 2. Realizing it’s Her Favorite Brand. 3. Questioning if the Price is Doable, 4. Noticing the Unbeatable Price, & 5. Happy Dance!
